Meet Ian Wagner

Hello!  My name is Ian Wagner and I am a seasoned educator in my 28th year of secondary mathematics instruction, having taught courses ranging from PreAlgebra through advanced mathematics, Statistics and International Baccalaureate mathematics courses.  I earned my BA in Mathematics from Brigham Young University in 1995 and my MA in Mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado in 2002.  In 2008, I was awarded the Dick Butera Distinguished Educator Award.

For several years, I also taught evening and summer College Algebra and Statistics courses part-time at a local community college.  In addition to online tutoring and course creation for Udemy.com, I also teach an online course in Trigonometry through Brigham Young University Idaho.

My tutoring career began 30 years ago when I began volunteer tutoring in college.  It made such an impact on me that I changed my major and have never looked back!  Currently, I teach Precalculs/Introduction to Calculus and Algebra I at a prominent high school in Colorado.

Outside of tutoring and the classroom, I enjoy creative endeavors, puzzles and puzzle games, spending time with my wife, cooking and good movies, among other things!

My tutoring and education experience include…

  • 30 years of individualized and group tutoring experience

  • 27 years of experience (and still going!) in the high school classroom teaching Prealgebra, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Statistics and Introductory Calculus courses. I am currently in my 5th year at Cheyenne Mtn. High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado and previously taught for 18 years at Aspen High School in Aspen, CO.
